A large project that took a few months to complete. We started by picking a book. I picked A Princess of Mar because I loved the Disney movie version. We started by looking at what already exists, which is what I have below on the left. We moved on to mood boards/the Ideation phase, which is below on the right.
I went pretty far from my mood board to the final product, which you see below. I went with a way more modern and simplified look, rather than a cowboy magazine look.
